Lamellar is eastern armour type used by Njerpezit. Lamellar armours are made of square or rectangular iron plates tightly fastened to each other with leather straps passed through openings along the edges of the plates. Lamellar technique is used mainly to create cuirass and hauberk type armors, but it's also suitable for some spot protection pieces like shin guards and forearm guards. Lamellar armour offers better protection than mail, especially in case of blunt attacks.

Lamellar is a type of non-organic, mostly metallic material for armour. It originates from foreign east, and is often carried and used by Njerpezit. Lamellar was widely used form of armour from Eastern Asia to Eastern Europe.

Availability

Lamellar armours are brought to Unreal World mostly by the foreign eastern culture of Njerpezit. Lamellar is effective and expensive form of personal protection, but is rarely found in good condition since Njerpezit prefer to put the armour to its intended use rather than barter with their enemies. Like all other metal armour and objects, lamellar cannot be worked or repaired by the player character.

Uses

Lamellar is less expensive than mail armour and has better protection capabilities, but its composite construction is not as durable or flexible enough to provide full body coverage. As such it is mostly available in similar style to ordinary iron armour, but its reduced weight makes it suitable for cuirasses and hauberks in addition to limb protection.
