List of Buildings and Structures
This is an overview of all buildings and structures in the game.
Official release
Structures from the base game.
Buildable structures
- Wooden Building - any building built in the manner of a loghouse, constructed tile-by-tile. Requires the most work and preparation out of all buildable structures, but is the most modular/customisable dwelling in the game. It offers a lot of inside space, can be built in various sizes and layouts, offers the option to add furniture, and is crucial to several specific crafts and chores (e.g. tanning, smoking).
- Cellar - a form of simple storage pit or root cellar, constructed from wood and stone. Though not a dwelling, it is a very useful auxilliary building for storing all manner of supplies and materials, protecting them from the elements.
- Sauna - effectivelly any enclosed loghouse with a working fireplace. The player can turn their main dwelling into an improvised sauna or construct a smaller separate building with a fireplace, in addition to their main house.
- Kota - traditional hut-like dwelling, constructed around a conical timberframe. A more permanent dwelling than a simple shelter, but can't offer more interior space than a wooden building-derived log cabin and cannot be furnished inside. Kotas are most often favoured by the more semi-nomadic cultures of the north, but can be found throughout much of the game world, in addition to log buildings. Kotas are something of a middle ground between the temporary nature of a shelter and the permanent nature of a loghouse.
- Shelter - the most basic habitable structure in the game, useful mainly as a temporary dwelling. Though it can be inhabited for weeks or months, it only provides a place for sleeping and putting away tools and short-term supplies. For harsher seasons like winter, players should build more permanent homes. The shelter is a useful as a starting dwelling, as a hunting, fishing and foraging camp established in the deeper wilderness, or even as a boathouse for small watercraft.
- Fence - simple fencing made of wooden stakes, constructed tile-by-tile (similarly to the walls, floor and roofing of the Wooden Building). Fences can be used for defensive, hunting and farming purposes.
Set-dressing structures
- Low stone walls - the settlements of some of the more advanced southern cultures (e.g. the Driikiläiset) occassionally include fortified villages that are surrounded by low walls made of stacked, drywall stone. The player cannot built these, but wooden fences provide some degree of defence.
Fan-made mods and addons
Structures added via modding, by the UnReal World community.
- Bird-coop by Privateer - Adds a small structure in the style of a chicken coop that can be used to raise grouse chicks from eggs to adults. Best used with fencing surrounding the coop, once the animals are hatched.
