During character creation, the player gets to choose a scenario that can make the early game easier or harder.
Below is a list of scenarios and their descriptions.
Contents
The Unreal World
Start playing at the middle of a wide, unfamiliar wilderness
You start on the wilderness map with nothing around you. No distinct advantages or disadvantages, just a solid starting point.
The Village
Start playing outside a strange but cosy-looking village
You start on wilderness map with a settlement directly in front of you.
Runaway Slave
Having been slave to Njerpezit for years you finally take a step to escape from your captors
Starting zoomed in, you start play immediately in a Njerpezit camp, with only a single weapon and the clothes on your back. They are all immediately hostile to you, so will chase you down if you don't run quick, or are able to sneak/hide until you can escape. As you have no protection, it is unlikely to survive a direct assault, especially with so many around, so tactics are important here. Even running, you could still easily die as they have many ranged weapons.
Unfortunate Hunting Trip
Your father lies dead on the ground and the beast who killed him is still present
Starting zoomed in, the dead body of your father is lying near by. You can pick up numerous items from there to augment your standard pack items. The beast that killed him is still around, and you are able to track it down if you so desire.
Lonely Settler
You find yourself alone on a foreign ground with two unfinished cottages
You start within visible range of a partially finished cottage(s). All of the materials and tools are available to immediately finish one of the cottages(including floor/ceilings), and make headway on the other without felling any more trees.
Hurt, Helpless, and Afraid
Wounded and left for dead, you struggle to survive in the wilderness
Immediately zoomed into the map, your injuries are around 45% penalty, your inventory is only your clothes(partially worn down), and a knife. You regain consciousness...
Traps and Trapping
You start playing fully equipped with tools for passive hunting
A couple of traps and a number of wooden stakes help you get started trapping.
I Want to be a Fisherman
Carrying extensive fishing equipment you start to follow your path as a fisherman
Starting with a fishing rod and 2 nets, you're ready to being eating. If you can only find water...
Abandoned Trap-Fence
You find an old trap-fence in the wilderness
Starting zoomed in, a trap-fence is setup and ready for you to take over. The traps are sprung, and empty, but you'll learn to reset and maintain the trap-fence.
Abandoned Camp
You find an old camp with a shelter, firewood and useful items
Starting zoomed in, you are in range of a shelter, firewood, and a couple other items that might be useful to immediate survival.
Agriculture
You posses some valuable seeds and are ready to try out your agricultural skills
You start with shovel plus a number of other random seeds of varied amounts included in your inventory.
There be Robbers!
You encounter a band of ruffians in the wilderness
Starting zoomed in, a robber catch up with you and try to hold you up. You can choose to fight them off, or give them a number of your starting equipment. If you choose to fight, he whistles, and a number of other robbers join in the fight. If you fall in the fight(likely), you'll be heavily injured if not dead, and they will have taken a number of your starting equipment. The items taken are random, so both those that they require and those taken if you fail will likely be different.
If you give them the items they ask for, they will take them and let you leave. But be warned, if you stick around or come back, they will be aggressive and attack.
Not All Who Wander are Lost
You set out into the unforgiving wilderness with a four-legged companion
Starting zoomed in, there is a dead body with a lot of equipment as a result of a forest fire that is burning out. A pet animal (depends on starting culture) will be with you, attached to a leash.
