Trap pit
Trap-pits are commonly used to hunt big deer such as elks and reindeer. A shovel is needed to dig a pit which can then be covered. This is the most simple form of a trap-pit. It's also possible to place sharp wooden stakes at the bottom of the pit, which makes it an improved and more lethal form of a trap-pit. In case of trap-pits, fences are commonly used to guide the prey more efficiently into the trap-pits. Fence constructions can be rather long, having an opening with a trap pit here and there. An animal following along the side of the fence will drop into the pit when trying to go through the opening.
