This ritual is used to thank the spirits for assisting in a hunt. It has no effect other than raising the spirit's relationship with you.
In order to perform the ritual, you must choose a raw meat cut to sacrifice to the spirits in order to thank them for this endeavor. The meat must be raw, and does not have to be from the freshly killed animal.
