Pine martens are quite uncommon animals to encounter. They are not aggressive, and tend to run away when you see them.
Skinning them gives a hide >1 lbs, which tans into fur. This fur is quite valuable to foreign traders.
They have been observed stealing from player cellars and will make multiple attempts even after being chased away.
