Acquiring the resource
Blocks of wood can be made from fallen trees, specifically tree trunks, or from logs, using the timbercraft skill.
Each trunk yields 8 blocks, and a woodsman's axe is the best tool for this.
You need an axe to craft blocks of wood, preferably the woodsman's axe.
Usage
A block of wood weighs 40 lbs. A strong player character may pick up (,) and carry several blocks of wood instead of slowly hauling them (m).
