UnReal World's audio landscapes rely mostly on a large variety of environmental and incidental sound effects, but there is also some official music present in the game, created by the developers. This short article provides a handy overview.

All of the official music files can be found in any of the current release's audio folder. Most of them begin with "music_".

Current soundtrack

Music tracks you can hear in the current releases of the game.

Order Track Length File name Notes
1 Main theme 3:28 intro Serves as both the opening theme and main menu theme. It is also heard during the character creation process. The most prominent instrument is the traditional Finnish kantele.
2 Birth theme 1:10 music_birth Originally heard during character creation process, now used as background music elsewhere in the game.
3 Chant 0:57 music_chant Heard in the searchable minimap menu and in the closing screen of the game. It runs on a loop. The most prominent instruments heard are a drum and a jawharp.
4 Chantbeat 0:25 music_chantbeat Heard in the armour and clothing coverage menu. It runs on a loop.
5 Munni 0:44 music_munni Heard while browsing the in-game UnReal World Encyclopedia.
6 Ritual theme 1:00 music_ritual Heard in the religious ritual menu. It runs on a loop.

Previously used tracks

These are tracks that are no longer used in the latest releases, but were heard in some slightly older releases of the game.

Order Track Length File name Notes
1 Intro 1:03 intro The older, more ambient and sound effects laden version of the opening theme. Unlike the current intro/main theme, it did not loop.
2 Outro 2:21 outro An energetic and somewhat tougher sounding song, almost like a part-folk, part-metal piece.
3 Death theme 1:28 music_death Yes, this mournful theme played whenever your player character was unfortunate enough to perish. :-) The lyrics are at least partly in Finnish.

Trailer music

The music for the 2014 and 2016 official trailers reuses the music from the cheery Hololiloija! music video, created by Sami and Erkka in autumn 2013. (And very effectivelly so, as it's a fun tune.)
