A rope can be applied to a domestic animal next to the player to leash it. Once leashed the animal will follow the player. The leash can be tied to a tree or fence, or the animal can be unleashed by applying the rope again. A leashed animal can only move within one tile of its leash. A leash tied to a tree or fence can be later picked up by the ; key.
A rope with an animal leashed to it will show as "rope ([animal/animal's name] leash)" in players inventory or when looked at.
When buying animals from a settlement, the player is provided with a rope to leash the animal with. If left unleashed, the animal will run away.
