1. Maybe it's time to add river/lake crayfish?
Passive fishing like with nets but on a shallow water.
Just place a net, throw a bait (like spoiled fish/meat or boiled beans/garlic) and forget for couple of days, then return and collect.

2. Attract wolf packs or bears with fresh carcasses or simple bears with dead rotting carcasses.
I do understand that there are traps now that can be baited, but this will be without traps. Need to kill beasts in a fight.

Just downloaded new version will try myself soon.
But a question in advance - how many days will fish caught with net stays alive while net is in water?

Crayfishing would be suitable addition, but at the moment we're occupied with something else. ;)

It already works like that. Carnivores that utilize carrions as a source of food do get attracted by carcasses.
How the trapping is modelled in the game it's not that the traps itself attract any living being, but it's the baits that do it.
And you can use carcasses as baits with trapping too.

Depends on the water temperature, but in general it's advisable to check your nets at least every other day.
In the coldest waters during the wintertime you can expect a few days longer preservation times compared to the average.
