If one of the reds uses a bow and hits a friend, all Njerpez turn on each other, resulting in huge free for all.

Not necessarily a bug, it could be roleplayed as existing strife within the Njerpez group:

“Bob has been trying to usurp Frank as the leader for a while, and now he shot him in the back with excuse for trying to hit that Finn running in the spruce mire! I say we’ll get rid off Bob right now!”
“No way, Bob is my uncle, I’ll kill you for that remark!”
“Raaarggh!”
“Raaarggh!”

—Finn commits coup de grace on sole survivor and loots them all.

True, but that would be the case if it was rare. It happens basically every time I saw it (4/4 so far). And makes Njerpez encounters much easier than they should be imho.

Njerpez encounters (in wilderness, not war camps) were single warrior and possibly a dog as recently as 3.63

I like the chaos and increased loot in v3.71
