Quest searching for npc shelter on wilderness map

When looking for an NPC shelter can it be found on the zoomed out wilderness map or must the search be done in local view?

Zoom-in map view only. Once it has been rendered on the screen, the Wilderness map will have the shelter icon and F6 map will show brown triangle.
You might be able to spot the attacking animals tracks on the Wilderness map, but I’ve had minimal luck with that, even with Tracking as high as low 80s. Remember to trace back on the tracks to the camp (move along to find the animal, if you’re looking to harvest)
