I remember sleeping with furs made you sleep better or at least there was a comment about the furs on the bed. Did this change?

I just tested it with an elk fur on my shelter and it said "You lay on the fur and fall asleep." If you have more than one fur it'll say "You wrap yourself up in furs and fall asleep".

news.txt says

The fur needs to be of decent size to act as proper ground cover or
blanket. Several smaller furs can be used instead of one big pelt.

so if you just have a squirrel fur, it won't help.

Playing on the new beta version, I sleep in a shelter, with a harsh reindeer fur, a harsh winter elk fur, and .7lbs of a harsh elk fur, and I still get the wrap yourself in fur, and fall asleep message.

Some folks travel with fur cloaks what give enough fur mass to do the same. It does appear to use the total mass of "fur" to decide if/which message plays.

(BAC has an item for making bedding of spruce which happens in real life by renaming the result to something with "fur" and it works out)
