So I stupidly backed myself into a 2x1 building to try and clear a village. I learned I'm not ready lol. I am having a really hard time killing enough people to get out of the house, and once I do even more surround me. Is there a file I can delete that will push me back into the overworld map or something? Anything so I don't have to die?

I've tried about 12 times to escape but ultimately have to ctrl alt delete my way out of it.

Thanks for any help!

I'm pretty sure you can't get out of the situation by deleting files, etc.

The only way I know to "cheat death" is to make a backup copy of the character's folder.
Then you can go back and start from that saved point.

Just roll with the situation, and like you already said, you've learned something and will know better next time.
Permadeath is, of course, one of the hallmarks of roguelike games!

It depends on where your characters location is saved and whether a zoomed save is within the character files.

Here's an idea:

Create a fresh world. Copy ZOOM files, WOLRD and WEATHER files into you char folder, *maybe* it'll work. Perhaps try other files that sound world and map-ish and not char data, ie charname files.

Also, important is the realization that you caused this.  It sucks, but JEB Davis said it well.  It burns so much worse when it is a random Njerpez warrior that takes you out or an unexpected one-shot death.  This game has certainly taught me to fear combat and to make sure I am very prepared if I instigate anything.

Thanks for the info! I ended up deleting a couple files and was kicked back onto the overworld map. All my settlements were wiped and the villages I had discovered were cleared of items as a result. But better than death! I know it's kinda cheap but lesson learned :p

Yeah I was just about to write how I spawned a new char in an existing world, but you got what you wanted.
