In my cabin, I gave a Companion two cuts of raw grouse and then told him to cook it. He fired up my fireplace and cooked it right away. However, the fire has been going all evening now! So, either it's a bug or he's shoving enormous amounts of fuel into his fires. I make my fires with 18 branches and the fire I'm used to would be out by now.

Off topic: FYI: I believe the minimum amount of fuel for a stove is 16 branches. That's what I use.

I thought my trial-and-error method had arrived at 18 as the minimum....hmmm, well, that was with my FIRST fireplace ever, so, give this noob credit for consistency since then, anyway.

I checked my Companion's fire-making method in the wild and, indeed, he DOES make a much bigger fire. So, not a bug...Sorry!

Yes, just checked it for verification, and it's not bug. Companions always make fires that last 3-4 hours. It could be reasoned now according to cooking task length, but it's not all that important.
