I always find the time needed for various tasks is a bit long and annoying. For example, when I have to grind several bags of rye, I have to wait more than 5 seconds for each grinding run and soon it gets boring. Training carpentry by making shortbows is not practical unless you have a lot of time and patience. Tanning a fur is one of the most time consuming tasks with regard to game time but it may not necessarily require more than 10 seconds of real time. There is already an option to increase spend delay, so I think there may be one more option to decrease the spend delay.

These tasks last even longer in real life. You can't expect to just select task and finish it in a moment. This isn't realistic.

Fishing takes about 2 to 4 hours, and the real time it takes is relatively short, it is also not realistic. I do not expect be realistic in a game like this. If you want to be realistic, you have to make real time equal to game time.
Btw, what I suggest is to add an option, you do not need to use it.
