Is migrating an existing 3.40 character to 3.50b2 as simple as copying the character's folder into the new version's install folder?
Does copying the ANCESTORS folder also preserve all the history of dead characters?

That's what I was thinking, but just wanted a confirmation before stuffing things up!
Of course, I could just make a backup copy of everything, couldn't I, hehe.

Well, leaving the old installation will automatically provide a backup as long as you copy rather than move the character and ancestor folders.
