Deliver message quest -- can't find him!

I was given a quest to find a tribesman with a specific name. Apparently he's in a village 6km to the northwest. Well, there's two villages that meet that description, and I've talked to every tribesman, peasant, and what have you, and none of them seem to be the fellow! The crosshairs on the map also seems to be focused on the guy who sent me on the mission in the first place, so I'm lost. 

What am I missing? Should I get an indication of where I'm supposed to go? For the record I'm playing the 3.60 beta...

Firstly, UrW rounds distances (and most everything else) up, so "6 km" is 51-60 tiles (and it doesn't calculate true distances, so there's no square root of 2 calculation for diagonals).

Secondly, you should be able to ask for the guy once you find the right village: if you can't you're in the wrong one. You're not getting any better directions that the 1 out of 8 directions and a distance to find the village, though.
