Suggestions / Visible wielded weapons + worn clothing?

It would be nice if the weapons we are holding and the clothing changes applied were actually visible. Has this ever been considered? In games like these which lack much in the way of animation, I feel as though details like this really do add to the overall game experience. Thoughts?
