Suggestions / Some additions to game?
« on: August 14, 2024, 01:22:37 PM »
1. Maybe it's time to add river/lake crayfish?
Passive fishing like with nets but on a shallow water.
Just place a net, throw a bait (like spoiled fish/meat or boiled beans/garlic) and forget for couple of days, then return and collect.

2. Attract wolf packs or bears with fresh carcasses or simple bears with dead rotting carcasses.
I do understand that there are traps now that can be baited, but this will be without traps. Need to kill beasts in a fight.

Just downloaded new version will try myself soon.
But a question in advance - how many days will fish caught with net stays alive while net is in water?

Suggestions / Rebalance fishing with nets in winter
« on: February 01, 2022, 09:36:34 PM »
Imho, fish caught in the net is spoiling too fast now.
It have to stay alive near a week or even more in winter in cold water, but not only a day or two.

Maybe i'm somewhat stupid, but where to get the 3.70 as i suggest to be a lifetimer since 2005-2006 having bought the game for 20 or 40$? (sorry can't exactly remember date or sum ;-))

Or i'm not a lifetimer?
Your current member state on these forums is visible to all users: just you look at this page and your name in your last post. You will see that you are listed as "Member" whereas the poster above you -Plotinus- is listed as "Honorary Lifetime Supporter Member"; in summary currently you are not designated as lifetimer.

If you paid USD20.00 you probably are not a lifetimer this is based on my assumption that it never was that cheap to become a lifetimer but do check your emails just to confirm the amount you paid years ago - assuming you still have the emails from the purchase day...

If you paid USD40.00 you should be 'Honorary Lifetime Supporter Member' (this is based on Sami's post here: https://www.unrealworld.fi/forums/index.php?topic=943.msg2622#msg2622 ) and if that's the case, I suggest you find your proof of purchase email in your mailbox and then share the details (name/date etc.) with Sami in an email or forums private message. He then should be able to add you to the relevant group so that in the forums you appear as lifetimer and gain access to lifetimers board (with lifetimer download links etc.).
Mmm, ages ago i was here on old-version-forum with another name, Graxior (or maybe Dmitriy Balashov), but somehow i've fallen out for years and forgotten the password, then version changed and since i lost my old email (graxior@mail.ru), i couldn't restore it.

Just found the old archive from the program that now don't work, but maybe Sami remembers me. ;-)
There are dozen other messages, but i saved only the last registration code.
Adding to this there also was a credit card problem while purchasing the game.

Okay. That helps.
So try not to push number of items at the area up to its maximum
and see if it helps.
I do tests with many items also and try to find out the exact cause.

General Discussion / Re: No f*cking way i would play.
« on: May 04, 2019, 06:39:46 PM »
I tried to attack a njerp (from uphill) with a bow, and every time fk i miss.

Then i tried to change all chrs to max 18. (cheating, yes)

Aaaaaand. Nothing changed.

Daf*k. How can a buckler shield 60cm in diameter protect from an arrow flying at 100m/s?!

And this repeated for 20 times until my death.
What was changed it the targeting system? How this happened?

There's so little details in your post that it's impossible to say anything. Screenshots showing the actual situation, and penalties, and distance would help to analyze.
(And they're not buckler though, but roundshields.)
Sorry, this time i didn't make a backup.

But before death i tried to cheat all skills=100 and dexterity at 18, then 36 and then 80. And didn''t evade enemy arrows.
Something strange?

Okay. Let's suppose a buckler's good enough to block ALL arrows while a man is sitting crouched.
But no man can move this shield from head to legs in a 1/25s while being standing.
Because i shoot at them at a distanse of 1-2-3 squares (2-4-6 meters?).

AND THEY ARE SHOOTING THEIR FKNG ARROWS AT ME WHILE HOLDING A SHIELD!

How much time's between a single move?
Why can't i see in which position they holding the shield?

Why can't i shot them right with a dexterity=18, 36 (and 80!).

With all x at 80 moving speed is about 50 km/h while running, 15-17 while walking.
ANY other NPCs are moving maximum at 6/22 km/h and i can't outrun them.

Any suggestions now?
IMHO, all the battle system now is overfkd. Previos version were much better.

Modding / How can i make a selection of items in modded cooking?
« on: April 18, 2019, 06:33:25 PM »
I added this to cookery_glossary, it works, but i can't select specific salted meat, the recipe automatically takes any salted meat that is upper in the inventory list.

.Dried cut. [effort:0] [phys:arms,hands]    *COOKERY*    /2/   \1\   |-2|   [patch:50]   :148:

General Discussion / I'm really disappointed with new tanning process.
« on: April 17, 2019, 07:45:48 PM »
So many useless steps. And any delay in any step leads to harsh or rotten condition.

Ancient people didn't do all these steps, especially in places where water is rare.
This is the process that was used by russian northern (north-asian) tribes (eskimos, evenki, chukchi for example):
1. Drying (without deep cleaning, just removing blood and fat)
2. Softening (just placing skins or furs in many layers and walking on them)
3. Dry cleaning (more deeper than in step 1)
4. Tanning with whatever liquid substances.
5. Drying.

De-hairing process of deer skins was made with deer's litter. ;-) Without soaking, just washing and drying.

PS. Many methods of dry tanning includes smoking of inner side of furs.
