It is more difficult to hit a mobile target, yes. The size of the target also affects the accuracy of the shot
I say use the rough long bow, assuming the -1 impact is the only effect of rough quality
Long bows are more accurate, damaging, and able to shoot from the longest range compared to other bows. In this case, the rough long bow is the same damage as the hunting bow so it is only more accurate and longer range.

Just found an ant nest in a lichenous pine forest. Took only 10 more minutes of searching. I was just unlucky in the first few hours

It won't wipe out your saved game, but I believe only characters from versions 3.4 and above are compatible.
A prompt should pop up while you are uninstalling the game asking to keep your saved characters.
You can also backup your characters by copy pasting the character folder in the main game directory somewhere safe. The folders are usually named in all capitals. A character named ChingWong will have a folder called CHINGWONG in the main game directory

Thank you for the clarification. I mistakenly thought they were only uncommon, but it seems I need to put more effort into finding one of these nests.
